If only this cottage could divulge its history.

I found this little cottage nestled close to the center of town and i couldn't help but wonder what if "those walls could speak".

I imagine how many feet trod across that doorstep, how different society must have been to have your windows and doors easily accessed from what is now a busy street......... In a day of larger families how could they have coped in such a small home with very basic facilities?

It challenges the mind to see how the early settlers must have endured.

We have a great World - let's enjoy it rather than destroy it!

There is so much to be said for adopting a lifestyle free from stress - but how many poor wretches in this World have any chance of pursuing that dream?

It is time we reassessed exactly where we are heading and the real values in life,

A Great Environment is Worth Heaps!

As I compare a wonderful environment in New Zealand with the position in so many other places I count my blessings.

In often makes me wonder why mankind doesn't value more highly our natural assets.

We plunder and persist in abusing our wonderful World.

As I type this I am determined that the computer at the end of its life will not add to the growing problem of E-waste ruining many parts of the World. The ever-growing piles of toxic waste from old technology spills into our environment and in the process wrecks the habitat of so many desperate families.

We simply have to do better and much more than simply talk year after year.

President Obama has brought a whole new vision to the World and we must collectively work now to support many of his initiatives. Although, in saying that, I qualify that we must never allow any person or regime the ability to take complete control.

These are desperate and pivotal times - and much greater than simply economic problems. We have to look even wider if our World ever has a hope of sustaining future generations.

China is a Vandal

After wrecking much of its own environment China is scouring the World depleting every resource it can lay its hands on.

Africa, Indonesia and South America are rich plums - their forests, minerals and other resources are being routinely scavenged. The long term effect will be disastrous.

China has become renowned for its cheating - it will mislabel goods and resources to gain the advantage. Human rights mean nothing to them as many of China's inhabitants can confirm. Want some body parts? Go to China a prisoner will be found on some trumped up charge and before his/her last breath has taken place the organs will be removed in a nasty, horrid market.

Nothing will be beyond the reach of China very soon - they will have the resources and the economy to take what they want

It is time for the principled, thinking people of the World to stand up and be counted before it is too late.

Hail Sea Shepherd - a crusader for what is right!

I doff my hat to Sea Shepherd - an organisation prepared to directly confront renegade nations who insist they can ride roughshod in the World's oceans.

They have my full approval to send the whalers to the bottom - the nations pursuing whaling have used every devious, underhand trick to deny the public some say in the future of our oceans. Japan has "bought off" small cash-strapped nations to gain traction in pursuing its own unenlightened ends and then insulted the intelligence of the public to say they are killing in the name of scientific research. Garbage!

Sea Shepherd I say go for it - diplomacy has failed and it's time to declare war on these wreckers of our environment.

I invite people to peruse the Sea Shepherd site and actively assist this group in any way possible http://www.seashepherd.org/
